My name is Todd Hawkins, RN, BS, PMP. As a former resident of Merida, Mexico I can tell you firsthand that the savings on dental care in Mexico is significant. I can also tell you that Merida is among the 5 safest cities in North America according to Brand Vision Insights. The almost 500-year-old city has won many awards including the 'Best Small City in the World' 2019.
We all know that dental care in the United States is outrageously expensive. And dental insurance covers little if any of the costs. Perhaps you need dental work that must be done or simply want a beautiful Hollywood smile. Perhaps you thought about traveling abroad for big savings, but like many, you just don't feel comfortable traveling to a foreign country alone.
That is where we come in. Our philosophy is to offer more for less and help as many people as possible. I have partnered with my dentists and associates in Merida to create a one-of-a-kind experience that addresses your concerns about dental tourism. Periodically I lead group tours to Merida and in my absence my associate Raven Griffin is onsite to help you with anything that you may need. We also keep our prices low without sacrificing quality. We want happy clients.
Contact me for a free consultation. If you wish, I will arrange a teleconference with you and one of the dentists to discuss your needs. If you are satisfied, we will proceed with planning a successful, stress-free journey to a better smile!
Once your contract is signed, we assist you with everything you need for a successful dental tourism experience. You will be met at the airport, given $500 pesos walking around money for small purchases, taken to your hotel, then meet with the dentist. A schedule for the week will be created and arrangements made for the things you want to do while in Merida during your free time. If at any point you need assistance with anything we are here for you. If you join us for one of our group tours, optional group activities will be offered. When your dental work is completed, we will arrange for your airport departure. When you arrive home, we are available for follow up with any questions you may have.
Mexico is close to the United States and Canada and welcomes upwards of 3 million medical and dental visitors each year. It is affordable to fly to, and the cost of living is significantly lower than the US. Restaurants, hotels, and medical/dental procedures are much less. Savings up to 50-85% are possible, making the trip down worth it.
Merida is generally recognized as the second safest city in North America and is one of the lower cost cities in Mexico, popular with Mexicans and expats alike. The capital of Yucatan state is a vibrant city filled with colonial charm, rich history, and exciting attractions. Whether you are strolling through its colorful streets, exploring ancient Mayan ruins, or indulging in delicious Yucatecan cuisine, Merida offers something for every traveler.

Founder Yucatan Dental Tourism, LLC
I currently live in Greensboro, NC. I love Merida and enjoyed the 3 years I lived there. Before returning to the US I had Angie remove my wisdom teeth, perform a dental implant and fill my mouth with porcelain veneers and crowns. Now I have the smile I always wanted and I want others to take advantage of the high quality and low costs as well
Before my husband, Louis, retired from the military and we moved to Merida in 2022 I worked as a Medical Office Assistant at the Portsmouth Naval Medical Clinic. Since living in Merida, we have enjoyed many tours and excursions in the Yucatan. We love exploring local shops and restaurants and really enjoy the local culture. I look forward to showing you why Merida is a magical city.

Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom tooth extraction is a surgical procedure to remove the third molars at the back of the mouth, which often cause pain, crowding, or infection. The procedure may involve a simple extraction or a more complex surgical removal.

Dental Implants
A small screw-like device, usually made of titanium, that is surgically placed in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. It acts as an anchor for a prosthetic tooth (crown, bridge, or denture)

Root Canal with Crown Placement
A two-part dental procedure to remove infected pulp from the tooth followed by a crown placement to protect and restore the tooth’s function and appearance.
A Wonderful Mix of Modern & Historical
A Glimpse into Mérida’s History
Founded in 1542 by Spanish conquistador Francisco de Montejo, Mérida was built atop the ancient Mayan city of T’ho. Many of its colonial buildings, including the Cathedral of Mérida, were constructed using stones from Mayan temples. The city flourished in the 19th century due to the henequen industry, which brought immense wealth and led to the construction of grand mansions along Paseo de Montejo. Today, Mérida is known for its cultural heritage, blending Spanish and Mayan influences in its architecture, traditions, and cuisine.
